What you see here are clear, distributed, and autonomous role descriptions that you, as a Contributor in Cloud Scouts, can be selected into by a Circle leader.
Now, keep in mind that Circles will only be added one at a time with intention, through consent. The roles below are only examples of what they might look like now, but if you are a member of that particular Patrol, you may decide something entirely different.
These are structured similarly to “interns” or “volunteers,” where what you contribute to the community in these roles, under their term limits set by the Circle and yourself, will allow you to earn based on those contributions. What does this mean? Your Patrol will choose how funds are distributed for paid materials. Each has their own needs and aims but each work collectively.
When making a proposal that effects the whole community, Circle leaders will come together to make those decisions in rounds, with consent. This includes compensation proposals that fall OUTSIDE of equitable distribution methods. Remember, it’s not supposed to be easy, but this process will teach us a lot along the way and allow us to have tough discussions together.
We love experimentation in Cloud Scouts so all ContributorID holders are encouraged to propose new Operational Roles.
As you know, the service we provide to Scouts (and each other) is continuous learning through a Foundations Program and ongoing Merit Badges, this is the work that Operational Roles produce. And we do all this with the help of AI and our peers through outreach and networking, building our own skills while helping others. This is the value we provide to the wider web3 space.
